Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition.

Have we already produced a nation of such dependence on the Federal Government that we can all expect to be the abused by our ambitious leaders, elected and appointed, while we sit idly by expecting others to solve our problems?
